Our incredible caretaker, Mike, has created a wonderful new Mud Kitchen for all the children to enjoy!

Mud kitchens are a great way to encourage nursery-aged children to explore their natural environment and develop their creativity, curiosity and imagination. Mud kitchens allow children to mix, pour, stir, scoop and bake with mud and other natural materials, creating their own recipes and concoctions. This helps them to learn about textures, shapes, colours and smells, as well as develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and problem-solving abilities. Mud kitchens also foster social skills and communication as children share their ideas and work together in a cooperative and playful way.

Mud kitchens are fun, messy, educational activities that benefit children’s physical, cognitive and emotional development, and we can’t wait to see our children at Hartcliffe Nursery get stuck in!
