A big welcome back to everyone and a big welcome to you if you have just arrived!
We hope you’ve all had a brilliant summer and made some lovely memories. We are looking forward to welcoming you all back to nursery and welcoming some new friends to come, stay and play and learn with us. We know coming back after the summer break can be worrying for a lot of children with all the changes, but please be assured we will do all we can to help everyone feel settled and safe during nursery. Any worries or questions, please come and see a member of staff and we will always do our very best to help. Here are just a few little reminders regarding nursery.
Drink bottles
We are encouraging having healthy teeth and reducing tooth decay so please can bottles be filled with WATER ONLY or please bring an empty bottle and we will fill it up with the children. This is following government guidelines.
Can all bottles be labelled with your child’s name.
Snack times at nursery sharing milk and fruit
We provide milk and some fruit but any donations are welcome! Our snacks include all fruit for example – banana, apple, orange, plums, mango, watermelon, please NO KIWI OR NUTS due to allergies.
Crackers or breadsticks are also welcome.
Even if it’s one piece of fruit, this will be really appreciated.
Tapestry
Our online journal will be available for you to access at home. You can upload and share things you have been doing at home on Tapestry. If you need any help with this, please ask a member of staff.
Wellies/Spare Clothes
Please could you bring in a pair of wellies. We have a lovely forest area which we love to explore in all weathers. Also, please can you make sure your child has plenty of SPARE CLOTHES in their bags. Including socks, pants and if possible a spare pair of shoes. Can all these be clearly labelled with your child’s name. We may need to change your child in case of accidents or messy play.
Hot Lunches
We are very lucky to be able to offer free hot meals from Early Years Catering. There is a 4 weekly menu which will be up in the rooms.
If you would like a copy, please ask a member of staff or view it on our website.
Hedgehogs and Woodpeckers Tuesday and Thursday, Squirrels and Butterflies Monday and Friday.
Please can you provide a packed lunch on the other day. More news to come.
Attendance
Arriving/ dropping off: Please can you make sure you bring your child on time so they can fully access their learning. We start with a welcome time so it can be disruptive if you are late. We appreciate that you may need to get older children to school so please talk with your key person if this might be a challenge. If you arrive late, you may need to wait in the foyer until the welcome time is finished.
Picking up: Please collect on time as children become upset when no one arrives to pick them up and they love seeing you at pick up time!
If you are going to be late or need to pick up early, please contact the nursery on 0117 9038633.
Attendance and absence: It is really important that your child comes for their sessions. If your child is unwell please keep them home and let us know.
