The Times visited us recently to look at our work with Feeding Britain, one of the three charities supported by The Times and The Sunday Times Christmas Appeal 2023, which has enabled council-run nursery schools in Bristol to bring fresh produce and growing food into their daily activities. The article highlights our partnership with The Children’s Kitchen, and The Times visited our allotment.
Cate Peel, the head teacher, told The Times: “The principle is not to use food to play with. This is a real opportunity to explore the food and they can then eat it. If we don’t eat it, we compost it, but the experience with this amount of food will transform their lives. They are smelling sage and rosemary and chopping tomatoes and planting seeds. We are trying to spark that joy and bring back the love of food that used to be in the community.”
